What are the APN settings for Republic Wireless?

The following info refers to the Alcatel A30, Google Pixel and Pixel XL, Moto E4, Moto G4, G4 PLUS, and G4 PLAY, Moto G5 Plus, Moto X Pure Edition, Moto Z and Z Play, and Nexus 5X, 6, and 6P phones only.

  1. Tap Settings from the app drawer
  2. Tap Data Usage
  3. Ensure that cellular data is enabled (slider should be to the right)
  4. Tap the three vertical dots at the top right of the screen
  5. Tap Cellular Networks
  6. Ensure that data roaming is enabled (slider should be to the right) 

Note: Although roaming cell data is only available on Republic 2.0 plans, the data roaming setting must be enabled to ensure that your phone functions properly.

  1. Tap the three vertical dots at the top right of the screen again
  2. Ensure that the first option says “Restrict Background Data.” If not, tap Allow Background Data

Note: Phones with Android Nougat installed will not have the Restrict background data option.

The following info refers to Samsung Galaxy J3, S6, S7, and S7 edge phones only.

  1. Tap Samsung Apps
  2. Tap Settings
  3. Tap Data Usage
  4. Ensure that mobile data is enabled (slider should be to the right)
  5. Tap MORE at the top right of the screen
  6. Ensure that the first option says “Restrict Background Data.” If not, tap Allow Background Data

Ensure That Data Roaming is Enabled

  1. Tap Apps
  2. Tap Settings
  3. Tap Mobile Networks
  4. Ensure that data roaming is enabled (slider should be to the right).

Note: Although roaming cell data is only available on Republic 2.0 plans, the data roaming setting must be enabled to ensure that your phone functions properly. 

The following info refers to the Huawei Ascend 5W phone only.

  1. Tap Settings
  2. Tap More
  3. Tap Mobile Network
  4. Ensure that mobile data is enabled (slider should be to the right).
  5. Ensure that data roaming is enabled (slider should be to the right).

Note: Although roaming cell data is only available on Republic 2.0 plans, the data roaming setting must be enabled to ensure that your phone functions properly.   

The following info refers to the Moto E (1st and 2nd Gen.), Moto G (1st and 3rd Gen.), and Moto X (1st and 2nd Gen) phones only.

  1. Tap Apps
  2. Tap Settings
  3. Tap Data Usage
  4. Ensure that cellular data is enabled (slider should be to the right).
  5. Tap the three vertical dots at the top right of the screen.
  6. Ensure that the first option says “Restrict Background Data.” If not, tap Allow Background Data
